(This Adventure Log Entry served as our introduction to the Wiki long before the “Home Page” option existed at Obsidian Portal. I am leaving it in the Logs to retain the associated comments.)
Great campaign site! It all looks very stylish and customized! Also, that’s a great sketch, too. I would kill to have something like that for one of my campaigns.
I really love how your campaign looks!
Great Header! How did you create the image for your header? I know how to use an image, but I really want to create a header for my Campaign. Did you use a paint shop program?
Thanks, I appreciate the compliments. I just used a little bit of Adobe Photoshop magic for the header and graphics.
I need to comment as well!
it is beautifull!! really! I am going to snatch the idea of making the first Adventure post some future date, and have a “front page” – lovely!
And such wealth in detail! I didn’t go in depth, but it seems peculiar that you used D&D for this. I want to start an epic fantasy campaign myself… but I need something else that DnD, as it will be a cmapign with focus on storytelling, and I feel DnD get in the way of that. That said, I think that DnD is an excellent combat system. Was the campaign combat entensive?
One more thing: It would add alot, if you stacked your links in the “party wiki” tap into some kind of menu. Something that is cool and spiffy, but I am sure any design you would come up with for that would be nice.(I just use tables, but its not optimal)
Thank you for the compliment! It’s greatly appreciated.
In all honesty, I feel the Dungeons & Dragons game system was a great point of balance in the campaign and worked out perfectly. The campaign itself was more role-playing oriented, however did involve quite a bit of combat. In my experience the quality of role-playing roots directly from the richness of the campaign world, game master/dungeon master creativity and ingenuity, and branches out through the players through their actions and reactions, eventually blossoming into a rich and vibrant storyline that has been contributed to by all involved.
The role-playing aspect of the campaign depended very little on any game system, but it was very handy to have a complete, very detailed, and heavily sourced combat/mechanics system to utilize in times it was needed. Not to mention the abundance of core source books (and relative d20 source books) available for the D&D 3.0/3.5 system provided the players with an abundance of options and customizations that, I think, in any other game system would likely have been more limited, or at least less defined. In this sense, Dungeons & Dragons helped the role-playing evolve since less effort, and thus less attention, had to be applied to the base mechanics of the game.
I totally agree, our wiki side needs to be re-organized, but for the past several weeks (or nearly months now I suppose), I’ve been working in depth to develop the game world in much greater detail, and opted not to re-organize until I eventually get that content compiled and ready to be public ally displayed.
its a good campain and all but come on you copy righted it thats just imiture unnesisary , anoying to people who need the suff and a waist o f money
also could you please make me a custom map once you agree i will send you all the details i need
No, actually it is copyrighted becuase it is going to be converted into a web-comic series published by the Game Company I run. I’m not an ass, but if it’s annoying when people copyright stuff, make up your own. ;) The character names are also now Tradmarked as well (suppose I need to update that to the posts as well).
oh sorry. any way can i please get a custom world map for my campain
